Mini Case Snapshot
Client
A Regional Funder in Maryland
Challenge
The funder wanted to strengthen local youth-serving organizations by equipping them to engage young people not only as participants, but as partners—co-designing and leading the very programs meant to benefit them.
FHG’s Role
Findlay House Global customized Re-Power for Resilience™ to deliver an interactive Trauma-Informed Care and Positive Youth Development Training for youth-serving organizations and community leaders. The workshop introduced the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the practice of trauma-aware engagement, while guiding participants to apply these insights to participatory program design. Together, we explored how youth leadership, empathy, and collaboration can transform traditional service models into co-created solutions.
Outcome
Participants reported measurable gains in understanding trauma-informed approaches and how to apply them to youth engagement and leadership. 100% of participants rated the training a 5 out of 5, said it helped them better fulfill their organization’s mission and vision for youth development, and that their expectations were exceeded. The experience built lasting alignment among local partners and renewed energy for embedding youth voice into program design and community decision-making.
