Many companies—across industries—want to demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Each with distinct missions, yet often facing common roadblocks. Even the most well-intentioned corporate programs can stall due to:
Fulfilling engagement requirements without considering long-term value
Investing in community programs but struggling to measure what matters
CSR initiatives that are disconnected from felt community needs
Pressure to meet requirements without damaging credibility
FHG helps you transform your CSR from transactional to transformational—so it’s not just visible, but valued.
Together, we can build community-centered programs that reflect local priorities, strengthen your reputation, and deliver lasting impact.

TandemEd - “Own Your Story” National Initiative
Challenge
Corporate and philanthropic partners wanted to support youth-led narratives and community-building in cities across the U.S. Challenges included: aligning national funding with locally defined needs, ensuring authenticity in each city market while maintaining brand consistency with the national initiative, and increasing participation.
FHG’s Role
FHG co-developed a unifying national strategy that honored local contexts while aligning with the campaign’s broader goals. We supported three city-level campaigns led by youth and community members—each with its own cultural identity and organizing approach. Our team designed survey instruments, facilitated cross-city learning, supported grantmaking design, and guided equitable partnership structures between corporate funders and grassroots groups.
Outcome
The campaign reached over 300,000 people across three cities. Each site was awarded direct community funding, distributed through youth and resident-led processes.
The initiative not only generated high visibility for its corporate and philanthropic sponsors—it also sparked a youth-driven movement rooted in local power. Communities reported increased collective identity, ownership, and long-term engagement.
