What is the Re-Power DevelopmenT℠ Framework?

People are the engine that drive countries, communities and causes.

Our definition of people-centredness includes resisting the top-down approach to empowerment, where people have little to no say in the decision-making process. Our horizontal approach to collaboration operates on the basis that people inherently have their own power, whether or not that power is realised.

We do not empower, but we do seek to assist through re-powerment.

Re-Power Development℠ is our community building and international development framework that puts people at the centre of development.

Through Re-Power Development℠ we assist partners in: 

• Reigniting self-efficacy and a sense of agency among individuals

• Rebuilding centers of power among the people and 

• Replacing out-of-touch leadership with people-centred leadership

Our focus is on re-powering greater numbers of underrepresented people to be able to speak, engage and respond, so as to exercise their agency and potential, while leading and participating in the community development dialogue and planning process taking place at different levels—locally, nationally and globally.
